Expert assistance from BT&Co. can help in the divorce process. We have years of experience assisting clients and their legal professionals with the financial aspects of divorce proceedings, including tax and financial planning services. Our team also includes a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), the only one in Topeka, who is specifically trained to provide expert assistance in determining financial settlements. We help determine both the short-term and long-term financial impact of any proposed settlement, and will:
· Provide expert witness testimony on financial issues
· Assist counsel with structure of property settlements
· Assist Pension Plan divisions and stock option planning
· Calculate the tax impact of maintenance
· Analyze tax consequences
· Provide post-divorce financial and tax planning
The most important component of this area of financial planning is not just the immediate answers, but projections on how your financial future will look 20 years after the divorce. The hard truth is, equal in not necessarily fair. What looks fair and equitable today may not be five or ten years from now once factors of inflation, taxes, market risk and cost of living impact a settlement. The time to find that out is before the final divorce decree is signed.
At and under your and your attorney’s direction, we can provide financial, accounting and tax services in the identification and analysis of marital assets, divisible under applicable divorce law.
When these tax, accounting and financial implications are determined, there is further analysis of alternatives to the allocation and division of marital properties between you and your spouse. You will be provided the Working Capital, Cash Flow and Net Worth to both spouses resulting from alternative asset allocation scenarios created using specialized divorce planning software.
The initial visit is at no charge and with no obligation. At our first visit we can explore if what we have to offer fits with the services you need. It is vital to note that we do not provide legal services. Only your attorney will provide legal services.
